7 Day Discipleship Challenge

January, Month of Consecration (MOC)

It's a time to reset, refresh, and recalibrate our personal connection with God, which in turn rejuvenates our corporate ministry as a church. In practice, Month of Consecration is a barrier against burnout and a calling to a deeper and more authentic relationship with Jesus. It’s a spiritual exhale for the Church.

Over the course of the month, we intentionally lay down the busyness of ministry and embrace physical, and spiritual rest in Jesus. To do this, we will engage in a low-pressure, interactive worship experience that calls us to authentic relationships with God, and each other.

Because we prioritize the presence of God over performance,

we will NOT be live streaming Sabbath Services during January (Month of Consecration). Rather, we will provide alternative discipleship content to bless and edify our digital disciples.

Our break from livestreaming indicates our desire to focus on being present with Jesus, and for the month of January, we want to focus on being with Jesus over merely doing for Jesus.

Each week, we will engage in a Church-wide Discipleship Challenge or activity that will build community, embrace true rest, and develop powerful spiritual practices that we can carry into the new year. These activities will be centered on key focus areas addressed in our brand new, Teaching Theme: "Relationship ReImagined.”

20-day Spiritual Fast:

Prayer Theme:

● Personal Revival
● Families
● People we want in the Kingdom

Purpose: Personal revival and consecration, transformation in our families, people we want to see in the Kingdom.

Focus: Prayer, meditation, Scripture reading, self-reflection, journaling, and consecration.

Media/Distractions: Media consumption (social media, TV, excessive news, etc.) is minimized or eliminated. Instead, replace it with spiritual nourishment, contemplation, and silence.

1. Fasting from Media (all 20 days):

○ Limit or cut out all non-essential media (TV, social media, news, movies, video games, etc.). If you must use media for work or essential

communication, set strict time limits.

○ Use your time to deepen your connection with God, self, and others. Focus on spiritual reading, listening to spiritual music, and engaging in

reflective journaling.

2. Fasting from Food:

○ Choose a food fast that aligns with your current capability:

i. Option 1: 24-hour (water & electrolyte only) fast every Wednesday during the fast.

ii. Option 2: 12-hour (water & electrolyte only) intermittent fast every Wednesday during the fast OR cut out specific food types

(e.g., sugar, processed foods, or animal products).

○ You may choose to do a full fast on specific days (water-only) or modify the fast in a way that suits your health.
